A Michigan based agency says it will try to help free a man convicted in a riot at the Red River Valley Fair last summer. A jury found Mevludin Hidanovic guilty in January of engaging in a riot. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Last month, a judge denied Hidanovic's request for a new trial. The founder of the agency "Innocent" says he was drawn to the case because it's one of mistaken identity. He says errors in eyewitness identification skyrocket in cross- racial situations. Hidanovic is Bosnian. He maintains his innocence.
